DRP

I'm currently involve in a research programme(drp) in school. The topic is on micropropagation of exotic plants. I'm never a plant-person and this topic is maybe only 10-15% related to my course. So why do i choose it? No idea. Probably the word "exotic" caught my eye. I know, that's pretty shallow. But anyhow, i have no regrets whatsoever. In fact, this drp thing is pretty fun and educational, of course.
I'm in the same group as Farhana and 2 other guys (1 from yr 1 and the other from bio yr 2). These people are very easy to work with. Very co-operative.
The things we do in the drp are pretty routine but i'm fine with that. We usually start the day off by preparing culture media for the plants. Then we'll do some subculturing, cutting of packaging box or go to the greenhouse. It's pretty relaxing. And the lab person in charge of us is super nice.
Few weeks ago we did propagation of plants in the greenhouse. Cut out overgrowth plants and planted them onto new pots. Quite an experience. Oh, and we also had a field trip to the Botanic Gardens few days ago! The last time i went there was probably 10 years ago. There's an orchid garden now. Don't think it was there 10 yrs ago. There were quite a few interesting plants such as the carnivorous plants. We also saw this stray squirell (spelling?).
So overall drp have been rather fun. Only about 6 days of drp left.
