hazardous?

2nd week of attachment has been pretty fun. Definitely much much better than the week before. It's probably mainly because i was occupied with things to do throughout the whole week. I like! I even get to perform the whole routine test by myself on friday. Of course i did consult my peers countless of times to make sure im doing the right steps. But still, it's a nice feeling to have people trust you enough to perform the tests. Prior to the attachment, i've only expected to observe others do the tests and only do the simpler steps since we are only there as sip students. so i was quite surprised when i was told to do the whole routine. Thankfully, things went pretty smoothly though i did not complete the tests on time. And i did have several clumsy moments like when i spill the blood + saline mixture on my lab coat (twice). But the pellet (blood substance) is still in the test tube and i didnt get any scoldings for it, which i hope is a good sign.

For the 2nd to 4th week, i'm assigned at the thalassemia lab. My fave part at the moment is probably the smearing of microscopic slides(to screen for haemoglobin H). It's just satisfying (and ego-boosting) when after many tries, i managed to get a nice and decent-looking smear.
Next week, a staff would be back to work after 1 week-off. Hence i predict i'll have less work to do.

So it's Italy vs France in the world cup finals. My dream final between holland vs england remains a dream. But i do think that Italy and France deserves to be the remaining 2 contenders for the title. There's only 2 matches left (the finals and 3rd/4th place playoff between germany and portugal). I intend to watch both matches. Though i'm a neutral at this point, i would rather germany win over portugal. Blame c.ronaldo for my dislike towards portugal. Furthermore, Germany has been an outstanding side. I applaud the german team manager for bravely changing the team's traditional gameplay and adopt a more offensive approach. As for the finals, i'm not specifically rooting for either team. I believe both teams are equally match. But it's intersting to note that Italy have only conceded 1 goal (an own goal) throughout this world cup. But of course it's not very surprising as Italy's defence is super tight. Pity Nesta won't get to play due to injury.
