Heart vs Mind
How do you define the term "choosy" when it comes to job hunting? If "choosy" means not accepting the first job being offered, then i'm guilty. I know a vast majority of people have this mind set that you should just take whatever is being offered. Work does not come easy nowdays, they say. Which is true of course. So we should just accept a job just because it is the only one so far that is being offered to us? And then quit a short while later to find other jobs? To me, that's fine if the job is a temporary one. But i'm not too comfortable with that method if the job being offered is a permanent one. Maybe i'm in a defensive mode, assuring myself that i made the right decision by rejecting the job offer at a student care centre. Heh. I guess it all depends on individuals. We have to set a goal when job hunting. Like mine is to get a science-related job, preferably in a clinical lab setting. I would like to make use of my diploma. It'll be so wasted right, after those 3 yrs and not landing a related job. That's the only reason why i rejected that student care ctr job. And why do i apply for that in the first place? Because it involves children. Simply put, i chose to do what i think was right vs what i'd like (ie: mind vs heart). I'll always have that interest working with kids but i've decided to put that aside at the moment. I would still like to think that i've made the right decision. Just have to keep in mind that God knows best and just hope other opportunities will come by, InsyaAllah. I really do hope i'll be working soon. I'll be equally happy if it's only a temp/part time job. I'm getting too attached to baby Zuhairi, which is not good in the sense that when i do start working, i'll probably see him less and less. And so yah ,thats not good. [does that even make sense?? I think i've talked nonsense quite a number of times for the past weeks. About 2 weeks ago, this person held a trial phone interview with me and when she asked if i have any questions i asked " So for this phone interview, they will ask me questions and i have to answer accordingly?" Such nonsense right. hah. That'll land me nomination for 2007's most stupidiest question asked. Blahness. ] |
