EPL 07/08
EPL season 07/08 will start in slightly more than a week's time. yayness. Feels like i've waited much longer for the season to start. And now the excitement is building up, with all the transfer window discussion with footie fans. At the current moment, Chelsea have got 4 new players - 3 free transfers (Pizzaro, Sidwell, Ben Haim) and Malouda. Hopefully they are good buys but from what i see of the friendly match against LA galaxy, i wasn't particularly impressed. It's still early to judge though. And looking from previous Chelsea signings, some players require a longer time to adapt well to the team and to find their best footing. See Ricardo Carvalho and Didier Drogba - first season was crap, season after was spectacular. And hopefully this trend continues, which could mean that Sheva and ballack will have a great season! Chelsea may also get Daniel Alves, whom fellow Chelsea fan Zainul claims to be a great player and could do Chelsea good with his offensive competency.
This upcoming season seems pretty promising. -Newcastle have big Sam as manager and hopefully this would propel them to many good results. Big Sam also seem capable to tame the bad boys of newcastle like Joey Barton. -Liverpool have got Fernando Torres as their new sensational signing. - ManU have bought several seemingly-promising players. They have got Anderson, Nani and Owen Hargrevaes. And Tevez could possibly join the already talent-infested squad. As much as i dislike ManU and would detest to see them win any cups this coming season, i must say the talent they have is probably good for EPL and football itself. Yes, they will probably set a high standard and make it hard for other teams to compete with them. But i expect these other teams to provide a stiff competition. Positively-speaking, it could also work to chelsea's advantage as more attention will be on ManU, with all those promising signings. In turn, that's a whole lot of pressure lifted from chelsea's shoulders. so yay. Remember, it's easier to improve and climb up the leaderboard than to maintain at first spot. - Sunderland is one of the newly-appointed club. And with the loud-mouthed Roy Keane as their manager, i foresee some fiery thrash talks between him and Jose. 10 more days. |
