Children's Day '07
The school celebrated Children's Day last Thursday(for lower pri) and Friday(upper pri. Children's day was also 'Be yourself Day'. The theme for this year is "heroes". So kids are encouraged to dress up as superheroes or their own heroes. As expected, there were loads of spiderman and superman, followed by multi-coloured power rangers. I took a few shots of the kids while they were involved in some sort of maths trail. Most of the pics are of my kids la, the ones who i've taught malay as a relief teacher. They
2 of my P1 kids: Dina, the spidergirl with Firdaus. Iman as Ninja Turtle Taufik as spidey These 3 girls look so adorable that i stopped them to take a shot, although I only know Dayang. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was looking around a classroom when I heard a kid calling my name. I turned around and saw... ..Batman! I was like "ehh, siapa tu?" and leaned forward to try see who is behind the mask. Then a small voice said "Nazren". Oh, of course! I told him to take off his mask so i could take a picture of him. And he was like "huh? nak bukak?" as if he can't reveal his identity. The excited me was going "Yes, bukak bukak" Nazren, my P1 kid. I seriously have never seen a cuter batman. Even Christian Bale lose to him, surely. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Man, I sorely miss my kids. I do still see them around school sometimes but it is not the same as being in the same class and communicating with them. Relief teaching them is probably one of the best fun and experience i have had since working in the school. It is nice to still be acknowledged by most of my kids. Most of them will call out my name, wave and say hi when they see me in school. I personally think smaller kids (in this case, p1 and p2 kids) are more fun to be around with as they are more unpredictable and expressive. They have a higher tendency of speaking their minds. Although I have taught them for only 6 days, I have memorable moments with the kids that could last me for months. Even now, i giggled to myself when i think over some of the funny moments. I absolutely adore my P1 kids though it can get very challenging to teach them due to their short attention span. They have the habit of interrupting me midway during lesson. Once, I was interrupted by a kid who told me he wanted to buang angin, i.e. fart. So i told him to go to the back of the classroom and do what he need to do. He came back shortly with a satisfied grin on his face. heh. On the same day, I was about to start teaching when Nazren proudly told me his mum styled his hair for him that day (It was gelled and made pretty nicely la, i must say). I was like yes, you look very handsome today and he flashed a mega-watt smile. I then had to quickly start lesson before anyone else say anything. If i keep layan-ing them, they will not learn anything from me. Since I am very much attached to the kids and adore them dearly, I gave them children's day gifts. As i have over 70 kids, i did spend quite a bit on the gifts. But the reaction i got when i was giving out the gifts was priceless la. 1 happy kid = A happy Syafiqah 70plus happy kids = ____?____ Ok, I can talk non-stop about my kids. But i may bore you or put you off with my obsession with these kids. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Happy Children's Day, you! Because there's a kid in every single one of us =) Labels: kids |
