mourningHO
Yes, you've heard it. Jose Mourinho has left Chelsea FC. Whether he quitted or was sacked, that, i'm still unsure of. But it wouldn't have make much difference either way right? The reality is that Jose, probably the best manager Chelsea ever had, is no more a part of the team i've been supporting since year 2002. Personally though, i'd like to think he got the sack rather than he quitted. Because that way, I dont have to be angry with Jose for quitting on us at difficult times. Instead, I'll just have to be angry with Roman Abramovich for making a decision that he is bound to regret.
I guess Jose is bound to leave, with all the unrest with the owner. But the current EPL season is only 1 month old! and theres the match agst ManU followed by Valencia. Why leave NOW?? It's suicidal! Right, we've been not performing well anyway. so might as well just lose everything right? *screams out loud on purple pillow* You can say that Jose quitted because he had enough of all the issues with Roman. But that has been going on since early this year. If that's the case, why didnt he leave before the season starts? Why now? Furthermore, Jose has always been strong-willed. It's hard to believe that he'll quit on the boys just because of his misunderstandings with roman, and few days before the match against ManU, no less. Call me bias, but im pointing all my fingers on Mr I-have-lots-of-money-so-yay-to-me-and-boo-to-you Abramovich. Eee, how irritating can he get?? First, he sacked Claudio Ranieri. Now, Jose. Why bother hiring a replacement? He's going to get that poor guy sacked or drive him crazy anyway. So why bother?? Geee. Ok, so he'll argue Ranieri didnt deliver as expected, hence the sack. Nevermind that it's his first season since the revolution, with a whole lot of new players. (Managers and players are really robots, you see. They are supposed to win EVERY single match and EVERY single cup.) Nevermind that we finished second that season. Which is like ONLY the first time we finished that well since i don't know how long. Nevermind we made through to the semis of the Champions League. Which is also our best finish in the league thus far. Nevermind that we finished only behind Arsenal in the Premiere League. Which means we did better than big clubs like manU and Liverpool. In addition, Arsenal happen to have an exceptionally excellent season that year- not losing a single EPL match all season. Who can beat that?? However there's one thing Ranieri didn't manage to accomplish. And its THE one thing that Roman wants - to win cups. Now, Jose. He won us the EPL on his FIRST season in charge. AND the season after. With him in charge, we also won the other domestic cups - 1 FA cup, 2 league cups and 1 community shield. So Roman sacked Ranieri in search for a manager who can help us win cups. Jose won us SIX CUPS. AND he still got booted by Roman. Why? Because Roman claimed we don't play stylishly. [Enter arsenal] He wants cups AND style. Check the dictionary for 'greedy'. you'll see Roman's face below it. Yes, Arsenal play very entertaining football and i do enjoy watching them play. But when was the last time they win a cup? [no offence to Arsenal fans] i'm just pointing out that you can't always get the best of both worlds. Jose's approach is direct. He knows how to win matches. Yes, it's not pretty but it is effective. Roman, let's face it, does not know much about footie management as compared to Jose. So he should just leave the work to Jose. One other thing he wants is the Champions League. Whatever it is, he should have looked at what Jose has achieved and not what he HAS NOT achieved. He ALWAYS put on unnecessary pressure on the manager. But unlike Ranieri, Jose fights for his rights. He argued his points. and i guess that earned him demerit points from Roman. Oh whatever. Just 1 day after Jose left the club, we already have a replacement (some dude named Avant Grant or something like that). Oh, great. Lucky us. Other teams whose managers got sacked or quitted had to make do with caretakers before a new manager sets in, usually about few weeks to 1 month after. How suspicious right, that we already got a new manager. It's even more suspicious that our new manager was our football director who only joined the club this season. Which other club automatically take their football director as their new manager?? AND the new manager happens to be Roman's good friend. Great. This guy was brought in, in the new season and he got promoted to managerial role after just 2 months. I smell soemthing fishy. Honestly, I havent even heard of him before. So I heard he has done some great things - managing the Israeli national team and winning cups with 2 Israeli clubs. No disrespect to him, but who freaking cares?? If Roman wants to win the Champions League, shouldn't he hire someone who has experience in that league? so he dumped a great, influential manager who has indeed won the champions league with porto once, for an unknown one who has won the Champs league as often as snow dropping in Singapore? (i.e. 0 times, of course). Does that make any sense at all?? With all that being said, I still do have respect (however little) for Roman. Afterall, he was the one who got hold of Jose Mourinho. And i am still a supporter of Chelsea. Though i must admit my loyalty to the club was heavily tested when i first heard the news. Now, an excerpt of the statement from Jose Mourinho, as adapted from Chelsea FC Official Site: "I want to thank all Chelsea FC supporters for what I believe is a never ending love story." [No, we should thank you, Jose] "I wish great success to the club, a club that will be forever connected to me for some historic moments." Ok, pass me the tissue paper please. |
