Revolted
Today, I was absolutely sickened by the lack of concern shown by a mother towards her son. I was at the taxi stand when a little boy of about 3 years old fell face down on a slope three feet away from me. My immediate reaction was to go straight to him and picked him up. And where is the mum, you'd ask? She was standing four feet in front, somewhere. It was when the poor child wailed in agony that she came over, looking unfazed. Whereas i was practically stunned. I only managed a lame "your son fell down." Well isn't that obvious, Syafiqah? What really got me was the son reached out for my hand when he cried. This could mean 2 things: 1) He mistook me for his mum. 2) The mother must be so un-motherly that he'd rather resort to a stranger to calm him down. I'd like to think that it's reason 1. Because i simply don't like the idea of a child who feels that he could not depend on his own mum to make him feel better. That's plain sad. And that child's gums were bleeding la ok. And the freaking ignorant mother either failed to notice that or simply don't bother. She just picked him up and moved away. She even said "Go jump2 la" to him loudly. Ah, great job mum. Firstly, he wasn't even jumping. I think he might have just slipped while walking on the slope. But of course the mother didn't notice that, because she was in front, probably forgotten that she has a son to look out for. I wanted to offer a tissue paper for her to wipe the blood off the son's gums. but she just walked away. Like im the one who caused her son to fall. Whatever laa. Ignorant mothers irritate me like mosquitoes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remember folks, when you mess with a kid, you're messing with me. Hah, like real eh. =)
