Good times with good friends
I'm on leave the whole week and i am soooo loving it. It's the perfect time to do things that i can only fantasize doing when at work.
First stop is Sentosa outing with Jiaying. The highlight was Underwater World. Call me
jakun but that place is awesome!
I think it is different when you go there at 7 years old and again at 20 years old. One, there are definitely a whole lot new variety of displays. Two, perspective is different.
When I was a kid I only care if the animals are interesting and will go 'wahhh', 'ahhh' and 'eeee'. Anddd, that's it. Now that I'm older (and hopefully wiser) there's really more to it than interesting animals. I don't only appreciate them for their appearance.
God is truly great and fair. It's plainly amazing, how each animals have a survival feature to make up to whatever inferiority that they may have. There's this small-sized fish, which will surely be made dinner by bigger animals. However it has a feature which enable it to blend itself to the corals. So cool laa ok.
When i was a kid, 30 minutes at the Underwater world was more than enough to cover the whole place. This time, Jiaying and I spent over 1 hour there. We can just stare at the different displays and be fascinated. And i'm sure we annoyed quite a number of tourists by staying rooted at the same spot for quite some time. Well, they annoy me by refusing to set their cameras on no-flash mode. If the animals decide then that the flash is getting to them and start to attack, i will so make those tourists my shield. They are so freaking inconsiderate.
Ok, pictures of animals you don't get to see everyday:

HUGE sea crab! (Proper name unknown to me, sorry)
These bunch gave me serious goosebumps. It's like being at a scene of the movie 'Arachnophobia' or something. I think they are about 1.7m tall.

Ermm, see the purple circle i've placed on the picture? I think this crab is female. If it is male, the underside would be more triangular-shaped correct? I remember learning this in primary school science.
(note to self: Yes, purple is a pretty colour. But it is not very smart to use it on dark-coloured pictures.)

The shark looked more dangerous when it is blurred. Yes?

Spotty Stingrays.

Leafy seadragon. Wouldn't it be funny to see leaf-eating fishes nibbling on this seadragon? Ok, probably won't hppen.

Weedy seadragon. It's beauuutifuuul!

When we were walking at Vivo, we spotted a few girl guides selling the famous girl guides cookies!!

Chocolate-coated mint flavoured cookies. Yum!
We both went on i-was-once-a-girlguide!-mode and probably scare off those girl guides selling those cookies. Man, i remember those times when i had to sell these cookies during my brownies days. (Eh Nura, did we sell them during our girl guides days?) All those guiding memories came flooding back ok. Good memories, good.

The girl responsible for making me talk and laugh so much, that my jaw seriously hurt. Thanks Jy!
In school, we see our friends almost everyday so i don't find much need for meetups. But since working, i miss my friends a whole lot ok. Meetups become necessary! Yay to the regular meetups with the poly darlings Liza and Jy (you are in my thoughts, babes!) And hopefully the same goes for the best buds, secondary school mates (Enny Wenny, i still want the fairy tale dvd marathon ok!) and the other poly mates.
And more meetups soon!
=)
