Trip to Kahang

I was asked to follow the P6 students to their Johor overseas trip to Kahang EcoFarm last thursday and friday. It was a pretty pleasant trip. The place is calming and i feel that i've got a healthy piece of peace there. piece of peace, hah.

Sometimes, it really does one good when she steps out of her comfort zone. I wasn't very close with the other staff who were going for the trip. Hence I wasn't looking forward to the trip at first. I feel like i've been forced to go. But silly me, really. It was an incredible, eye-opening experience! That's the art of taking chances. You'll never really know the outcome unless you take that leap.

Ok, pictures!

This picture doesn't make a good introduction of the place, sorry. My camera decided to have an off-day and all (except for 1) pictures i took form the first day vanished. I had a good backdrop picture of the place which i took on the first day. I really really did.

The kids slept in tents. While us adults get to sleep in apartment-like rooms. Which i must say is pretty well made. We had proper beds and showers with heaters. Ah, such luxury is precious.

3 of the many clowns in the class that i was attached to. The class is awesome! I laughed buckets at their effortless jokes and antics. Their form teacher is equally humorous. Such quick-witted humour and sarcasm are charming, yes.

The class with one of the instructor.

The kids get to do water-rafting, which looks like loads of fun.

They also did the water obstacle course.

Besides the water activities, we went for a nature walk at the nearby jungle. There were numerous rubber trees and a few kampung houses with local villagers. And later at night we had night walk at the same place.

A few of the school staff who went for the trip.

And I found a new object of interest..

..lotus! It's so lovelyyy. The lotus are all opened up due to very heavy rain.

A white-coloured lotus. Which is really special because it's the only white lotus there.

And there were plentiful of ducks quacking away in an almost irritating way. They sounded like donald duck X 100. Apparently the farmers uses the ducks' poop as organic fertilisers.

A beautiful green beetle.
There were alot of interesting insects/animals that we normally don't get to see in our everyday lives. I saw leeches, dragonflies and a type of flying insect which looks alot like a leaf.

One of the special features of the farm is its plantation and absolutely gorgeous flowers. I got so jakun-ed ok.

The dragonfruit plant belongs to the cactus family. Interesting, aye?

Meet Anastacia.
Such a fittingly adorable name for a cute, pretty flower.

And i saved the best for the last.

Is this the prettiest flower you have ever seen or is this the prettiest flower you have ever seen?
And it looks like 3 different flowers combined into one.
Now, go pluck me some pretty flowers.
