Everything happens for a reason

Sometimes, when you want something so badly, you tend to overlook other things. Other important things. It is only when hiccups take place that you start to look at those things and appreciate the things that you have. We really can't take things for granted. Because in life, nothing is guaranteed. Yes, you can hope and wish. But ultimately, you don't decide. God does.

Quote passed to me by Akki:

Imam al-Ghazali writes that the more we are attached to something, the more agony there is when we are separated from it. Most of us know this through experience. Now all that remains is the question of whether we can meet the Imam's second challenge- to be daring enough to entrust our affairs to God, admitting that He knows best for us in whatever He chooses. When something is taken, why not trust that what is received in exchange will be better?

Thanks Akki, for the much needed slap of a reminder =)
